Announcing SA Co-President Candidates!

Hello RCs,
We’re happy to announce that the following teams are running for SA Co-Presidents this spring.
- Patrick Chun – Scott Daubin
- Sukhesh Miryala – Tamara Obradov
- Marc Farrell – Esther Hsu
- Rishi Shukla – Sloan Eddleston
Here are some frequently asked questions that we’ve gotten in the past regarding the elections.
1) If a candidate is a section officer, can they also be a member of the SA Executive Committee (i.e. Co-President, COO or CFO)
• All section officers with the exception of SA Senators can hold both a section officer position and a SA Executive Committee position. If an SA Senator is elected to the SA Executive Committee, the section will have to elect a new SA Senator to fill the position.
2) How can I find out more information about the candidates and their platforms?
• While we don’t ask candidates to keep the fact that they’re running a secret until the campaigning window, to maintain fairness in the election process we are restricting campaigning to March 5th-10th. During this time period candidates may use emails, posters, social networking, etc. to communicate their intentions to run, views on issues and future goals to the RC class. Videotaped statement by the candidates and their position papers will be available online on the SA website on the 5th as well.
• In addition, Co-Presidential candidates will have a chance to present their position statements and discuss the issues in person at a Co-Presidential Debate. The debates will be held on March 10 in the Spangler Auditorium from 3-4PM. Mark your calendars for what should be a great opportunity to find out what each team really stands for.
3) What are key dates in the election process?
• March 5th-10th – Campaigning period
• March 10th – SA Co-Presidential Debates
• March 11th – Elections
