Community Impact Fund Now Accepting Applications!
November 18, 2008
The HBS Student Association Community Impact Fund (“the Fund”) was created to provide financial support for student-led initiatives which create a timely, direct, and tangible impact on communities external to HBS. Funded as part of the annual SA budget, the Fund will distribute up to $20,000 per calendar year to support HBS Students who undertake projects that positively impact the broader community.
In the past, The Fund has supported transportation costs for student service treks, raw materials for student projects, and direct costs related to fundraising activities in regions as diverse as Boston, New Orleans, and Burundi. Rejections have included HBS awareness campaigns, sponsorship of students participating in external events through recognized non-profits (e.g., Walk for Life), projects without itemized cost estimates or completion dates, and philanthropic contributions on behalf of students.
Applications are open now and will be accepted until Friday November 28th. Application criteria and instructions are included in the attachment below.
Information Session: An information session for the Community Impact Fund will be held on Thursday November 20th from 3pm - 4pm in Hawes 101.
