RC Boat Cruise Postponed

September 5, 2008

We wanted to alert you that we have had to postpone the Orientation Boat Cruise from Saturday 9/6 to Sunday 9/7. Tropical Storm Hanna is on her way up the coast and unfortunately will be hitting Boston all day and night tomorrow.

The Boat Cruise will now be on Sunday 9/7 from 6pm – 9pm.

Buses will depart from Spangler Lot beginning at 4:15pm. The last bus will leave Spangler at 5:30pm and the boat will leave promptly from the dock at 6pm. If you will not be taking the buses, directions to the pier are included below. The boat will return to pier at 9pm and buses will be available to return to Spangler lot.

The boat cruise provides a great opportunity to bond with fellow RCs and see a Boston sunset while it is still warm out. Snacks and drinks are available on board for purchase and there will be a DJ for lots of dancing! Please make sure to bring a legal ID (driver’s license or passport – not just your Harvard ID) to be granted admission. Partners are also welcome to join for the festivities. Unfortunately there will be no replacement event on Saturday night, but we’re sure that you all will have no trouble making some fun of your own!

Directions to the pier: The boat is departing from the West side of Boston's World Trade Center pier on Seaport Blvd (the side that faces the city skyline). For those who wish to meet the boat at the pier, take the subway to South Station and transfer to the Silver Line. The Silver Line departures are less than every five minutes to the World Trade Center stop, the location of the pier. Be sure to arrive before 6 PM or you’ll miss the boat! The cruise company's website is www.baystatecruisecompany.com.
